I moved into the field of music photography in early 2005. My work has been targeted on musicians to use photos on their webpages, so I pay a lot of attention to make the artist look as he'd want to be seen by the fans. I try to capture the character of the musician, the feeling of a live performance and motion. Having been a serious fan of music myself for over 10 years I believe I have a very good idea what the audience would want to see.

I use a Canon EOS 30D camera with the following lenses:

  • Canon 50 mm 1,4
  • Canon 17-55 2,8 IS
  • Sigma 50-150 2,8

During my work as a live and journalistic photographer for Russia's biggest Webzine dedicated to heavy music I have developed skills of working in difficult low-light conditions. I have experience in shooting both from the photo pit and from the mosh.

Currently I am studying studio light and the art of posing to take it further to promotional photography.
